SmartBear Software has announced TestComplete 8.10, the latest release of its automated testing tool. TestComplete 8.10 includes new functionality for testing Rich Internet Applications, enhanced automation for data-driven and load tests, and numerous enhancements for keyword-driven testing and checkpoints.

TestComplete 8.10 improves users’ overall productivity and experience with a variety of features, including:

• Broader Rich Internet Applications Support - Test automation for Microsoft Silverlight 4 is enhanced with more accurate object recognition and simulation of user actions with Silverlight controls. TestComplete also further expands its versatility in testing Web and Rich Internet Applications with the addition of Adobe AIR support.
• New Built-in Data Generator Wizard - Using a new built-in data generator wizard, users are able to quickly create test data for data-driven, keyword, script and load tests and save it as a Microsoft Excel worksheet or in the internal TestComplete format. Nineteen predefined generators address common types of data, such as names, addresses, and states. Users can also combine several generators for a more complicated data field. This saves a tester time by not having to create all the data by hand.
• Support for More Applications, Technologies and Controls - Users can now perform automated testing on Java SE 7 applications (both 32 and 64-bit versions); software created with the latest Delphi and C++ Builder in Embarcadero RAD Studio XE; and Sybase PowerBuilder .NET 12 applications. TestComplete also supports Atlassian JIRA 4.1 to automatically create defect entries based on failed tests.
• Other cool enhancements include - The checkpoints for images and files now include new options, such as: sliders for specifying checkpoint parameters, automatic calculation of comparison tolerance for minor changes, and an easier way to specify masks for image comparison. Additionally, a number of enhancements have been added to the load testing engine, including server-side monitoring, data parameterization of test traffic, and real-time graphs.

TestComplete 8.10 now also integrates with the latest version of SmartBear’s performance profiling tool, AQtime 7 Pro, so users can profile their applications during testing and perform code coverage analysis.
