Sysadmin Tri-C E-Business Program Seeks Applicants
Paid E-Business internships are part of the program

PARMA, Ohio, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Computers and the Internet have become a business' best friend, and e-business economy now accounts for 2.3 million jobs in the United States. Demand for graduates skilled in both business administration and Internet commerce is growing by an estimated 22 percent per year. To help meet that demand, Cuyahoga Community College will now offer an Associate of Technical Studies degree in E-Business Management. Aiming to develop skilled workers that employers desperately need, the e-business degree consists of courses in accounting, business administration, economics, English, information technology, marketing, mathematics, speech, interactive media and photography. Designed to prepare the student for entry-level jobs in the field of e-business, the five semester sequence also includes the study of technology skills, web-based and web-enhanced business applications, and applied skills in research, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. Students of the program will spend three of the five program semesters in paid internships with a leading regional company. Such an internship may lead to full-time employment. Five out of six interns in Tri-C's E-Business Management class of 2004 have received full-time jobs at their internship company. Companies such as Rustoleum, Tremco, Day-Glo Color Corp., and RPM International, Inc. have accepted Tri-C e-business interns. Upon application and acceptance to the College, business program application packets must be completed in order to be considered for the E-Business Management program.
