BOSTON, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Organizers of The Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) & PDF 2005 Conference today announced that the management-level sessions will emphasize the lowered cost, increased collaboration, and improved security benefits offered by the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform. The conference is the largest annual gathering of organizations standardizing on Acrobat software and PDF and will meet April 20 - 21 in Orlando.

Organizers also announced that Pam Deziel, director of product marketing, Intelligent Documents Business Unit, Adobe, will deliver the conference's keynote address. Deziel will focus on the new capabilities of the Acrobat 7.0 family of software, the latest update to Adobe's Intelligent Document Platform.

"The conference offers an excellent forum for senior managers to explore with peers and subject-matter experts the impact Acrobat and the Adobe Intelligent Document Platform can have on document-based processes crucial to enterprises and governments worldwide," Deziel said. "It's also the conference where technicians and product users can gain insights about the latest applications of technology based on PDF."

Management-level sessions during the conference will explore the issues that enable organizations to:

-- Reduce print production time and costs -- Collaborate more effectively using the expanded review and commenting capabilities of Acrobat 7.0. -- Improve business processes using PDF to securely route electronic documents. -- Ensure greater effectiveness of engineering and design workgroups -- Facilitate the capture, archiving, and distribution of scanned images -- Manage business processes and enable more secure communications internally as well as externally -- Host, capture, and manage data from electronic forms -- Enhance security by creating options for time-limited viewing and real time revocation of viewing privileges

Of major interest to conference attendees will be the new capabilities of the Acrobat 7.0 software family. Acrobat 7.0 is designed to offer functionality addressing specific workflows. Acrobat 7.0 Professional provides more advanced control over engineering and design documents for technical and creative workgroups that rely on specialized software, including computer- aided design applications and publishing solutions such as Adobe Creative Suite. Acrobat 7.0 Standard is designed to enhance an organization's ability to find, use, and manage vital information. A pre-conference training clinic on Acrobat 7.0 has also been scheduled for April 19.

PDF 2005 offers comprehensive tracks for technical personnel charged with implementing Acrobat across an organization and for Acrobat users. General sessions will present case studies of implementations for homeland security, engineering workflow, and educational curriculum development.

The exhibition space provides the opportunity for attendees to interact with the leading solutions providers. These companies include Adobe, activePDF, Amgraf, Appligent, ARTS PDF, Callas Software, Creativepro, FormRouter, Global Graphics, Planet PDF, ScanSoft, PDFzone, Perfectus Solutions, and The Power Co.
