Said it would close on the acquisition in the next few weeks

Despite all the anxiety expressed by rivals, advertisers and watchdog groups and all the rumors of regulators moving to block the deal on antitrust grounds, the Federal Trade Commission last Friday rubberstamped Google's $750 million acquisition of mobile advertising house AdMob. It seems Apple's move into the space with its iAd platform for the iPhone and iPad as well as its acquisition of Quattro Wireless, the third-largest mobile ad network, makes the market competitive. Google said it would close on the acquisition in the next few weeks.
